I have been interested in the ancient goddess sculptures of Old Europe (3000 – 5000 BC) and the role of females in a more peaceful time in matriarchal societies. As well I am interested in the minute structures of plant pollen and seeds and their being part of our ancient heritage. My sculptures combine my interest in the form of the goddess with plant parts as part of the sculpture, the pollen symbolizing life in its earliest form
I have been working at testing and formulating glazes and prefer textured and unusual glazes, reflecting the cracking and decomposition that takes place in aging life forms.
